Lava launches Iris X8 octa-core smartphone for Rs 8,999 in India

Smartphone maker Lava on Saturday introduced another variant of its Iris series--Lava Iris X8-- at a price starting Rs 8,999 in the Indian market. The all-new Lava octa-core phone features a 5 inch HD IPS display with 720 x 1280 pixels
Lava Iris X8 operates on Android 4.4 Kitkat OS, but is upgradable to Android's new version Lollipop.

The dual-sim Lava Iris X8 runs on 1.4 GHz octa-core MediaTek processor and offers 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 32 GB with an microSD card.

The new Lava device is assembled with 8 MP rear camera and a 3 MP front camera. Its flip cover gives user an easy access to music, calls, messages, camera, among others without touch of the screen.

The newly launched LAVA phone is backed with 2500 mAh battery. For connectivity offers, the phone offers 3G, Wi-Fi, GPRS/EDGE, Bluetooth 4.0 and a micro-USB slot.

Available in two colour--Black and White--, the phone is available for purchase at the company's website.
